A statue of Amitabha Buddha was carved by the mountain in the Song Dynasty, and this place was historically called Mituo Yard. The wood-like stone chamber was established in the 24th year of Zhizheng reign period of the Yuan Dynasty (1364AD), and below the chamber there is a Mituo Temple that was said to be built in the Tang Dynasty and the hall was repaired through dynasties, being top of the 4 most famous temples on Qingyuan Mountain. Yixiao Platform outside the chamber is a perfect place for a distance view, where people could overlook and enjoy the enchanting scene Jinjiang River, the Twin Pagodas, red houses and green fields. Many inscriptions from past literati’s calligraphy were left on the cliff, among which the “Fo (Buddha)” inscription from Ma Fushu, Fujian Provincial Commander-in-chief during Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, was reputed as “No.1 Fo (Buddha) Inscription of Fujian Area”.
