The temple was built in a typical Minnan (southern Fujian Province) style “Yanju”, with red walls, plain tiles, white base and raised ridge, elegant and delicate. A stone statue of Sakyamuni in a sitting posture was worshiped inside the hall, vividly carved in the Song Dynasty with exquisite workmanship, being one of the Song Dynasty masterpieces of stone carving on Qingyuan Mountain. There is a couplet at the gate of the temple writing “The land is pure that makes this place sacred; the nimitta is wonderful that demonstrates infinity”, which was composed by the scholar and calligrapher He Qiaoyuan of the Ming Dynasty and inscribed by modern calligrapher Lin Hanzong.
